I made a song with my brother, an extremely talented and soon-to-be award winning musician, songwriter, and audio engineer.
This was amidst many travels, I had just spent some time in Dallas Texas, passed through Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and stopped at my brother’s pad in the Detroit Michigan area right before going down to Savannah Georgia for my first time.
It was amidst my evangelism journeys (which some day I hope to write about and share with y’all), and I was being led by the Spirit of the Lord.
I made a lot of mistakes, but my heart was pure and in the right place – following the Lord’s voice and telling people about Jesus & the Holy Spirit.
Anyway, one day, my brother asked me “Do you want to make a song?”
I was like, “Yeah, but it’s going to have to be a Jesus rap song.”
And so one day, we sat in his studio for a while and made up a song.
He put a beat and chorus together within what seemed like a few minutes – it’s catchy, right?
And then I literally went into the notes on my phone with him playing the beat in the background and put down some lyrics in rhyme.
We worked on it for a few days (you shouldn’t rush art, art is a living being and Spirit flowing through a person. The Spirit of the Creator. But you should also be disciplined to finish what you start, so you can go to the next one and build on top of what you already have.)
Now, what’s interesting is that my brother’s been a musician since he was a teen, I believe.
Me – I love music, and I have the chops in me to unravel a musical gift, which I plan to do sometime soon, but I really haven’t been able to put in the time to this latent gift and unravel it for the Glory of God.
God wants you to unravel your gifts and make them make something (Matthew 25:14-30).
I would like to unravel the gift for the Lord – to give glory to Jesus. Plus, music gets me high, in a good way. Seriously. See music video below.
Anyway I really just wanted to share my music video up top and tell you about my awesome brother, who goes by Dani S, and the amazing work he’s doing in the Spanish Reggaeton space up north.
Check out one of his cool songs below.
Be blessed,
Jesus loves y’all
